Chad Naylor
CEO and CIO

Chad Naylor

Chad Naylor is the CEO and CIO of Naylor & Company. He is directly responsible for making all investment selections in the Naylor & Company Core Composite.

Chad comes from a family steeped in investing history, going back three generations. The central topic of family discussions throughout his life was investing in the stock market. From a young age, he made his own investment decisions and furthered the family practice of holding quality companies through good times and bad.

In college, Chad studied Anthropology, which deepened his insights into historical human trends. He then studied law and practiced as a corporate lawyer for 12 years. This work intensified his ability to critically analyze the conditions of industries in recovery and the investment prospects of the companies in those industries.

After seeing a strong need in the investment industry for the type of investing style developed by his family, he founded Naylor & Company in 2003. His focused approach and concern for the success of his clients have engendered a level of trust, confidence and communication rare in the industry.

Chad graduated with Highest Distinction from Indiana University and Summa Cum Laude from Indiana University School of Law.

David Naylor
Portfolio Manager

David Naylor

David Naylor is a portfolio manager at Naylor & Company, and is responsible for portfolio management, trading and investment research for the companies in the Naylor & Company Core Composite.

David, also a third generation investor, learned the basics and, later on, the more advanced concepts of investing theory and analysis through discussions with his father and grandfather.

The subject matter of one such discussion in the early 1990's centered on the biotech industry. At the time, the prices of biotech stocks were severely depressed due to concerns about potential healthcare reform under the Clintons. However, these concerns were greatly overblown, whether healthcare reform proceeded at that time or not, and resulted in very attractive prices for even the most dominant and fastest-growing companies in the industry. This, and similar events, gave David an early appreciation of the divergences that often arise between the common perceptions and the actual conditions of an industry or business.

In college and to this day, David studies human psychology and philosophy to gain a deeper understanding of human actions and beliefs in regards to investing and economic conditions. David holds degrees in both psychology and philosophy from Indiana University.
